Follow on InstagramFélix Auger-Aliassime was born on 8 August 2000 in Montreal, Quebec, to a Togolese father and French-Canadian mother. Known universally as FAA, he was identified as a prodigious talent from a very young age and became the youngest player to qualify for an ATP main draw at age 17.
FAA is a big-serving, all-court player whose game is built around aggressive shot-making. He has been one of the more consistent top-10 players on tour since 2021, with ATP 500 titles to his name, though a Grand Slam title has so far eluded him. His best major result remains a quarterfinal at multiple Slams. At 25, he is approaching his prime years.
He is part of an exceptional generation of Canadian men's tennis alongside compatriots Denis Shapovalov and Milos Raonic. His eligibility for Team World at the Laver Cup is confirmed by ranking, and he has featured in the World squad in previous editions.
Born in Montreal to a Togolese father who coached him from the start. His parents' investment and structure meant FAA had a professionalised development path from childhood.
Reached world junior No. 1 — a position that confirmed what the tennis world already suspected. He and compatriot Denis Shapovalov were set to redefine Canadian tennis.
Became the youngest player ever to reach an ATP final in the Open Era and cracked the world top 20. The expectation around his development was enormous.
Won his first three ATP titles in a remarkable late-season run, including at the prestigious Swiss Indoors in Basel — the same event where Roger Federer famously dominated.
Delivered a series of clutch performances in Canada's Davis Cup campaign. The team format where performance under pressure is rewarded suits his game perfectly.
